An Open Letter to familyradio.com

Dear Sirs:

I have a serious question for you. How long are you going to keep up your websites that declare May 21 as the End of the World? How long will those ungodly and satanic billboards and placards be left up all over the world that declare, "The Bible Guarantees it!"

When I first heard of this movement I was sad for the damage that would be done to Christianity and the validity of God's Word.

Now that you've made such a terrible mess and disgraced the Word of God in such a Global way, what are you going to do to clean it up? We believe you can start by getting rid of all the signs, RV's, billboards, etc.

WOAK Radio also asks Harold Camping to make a formal apology to his listeners by declaring that he was wrong, not the Bible. We also ask him to enforce the fact that the Bible is without error and complete, without the need of extra revelation.

This is what happens when entities such as Satan and false prophets deny the Word of God and say, "Yea, hath God said...?"

Saturday, May 21. Doomsday?

I figured I needed to write this before the big date so that I wouldn't be accused of taking the easy route of denouncing this heresy after the event fails to transpire.

Yes, I said heresy. Harold Camping with Family Radio, and others like eBible Fellowship have taken the same steps Satan took in the Garden of Eden of making the Bible say something that it doesn't say, and then denying clear teachings and commands of the Bible.

In a nutshell, Harold Camping is dogmatically declaring that the Bible says the beginning of the end of the world starts on May 21, 2011 with the Rapture happening sometime that day. I'm not going to muck through his delusional math and whacky number crunching (you can do that on your own time), but let me say that the Bible does not say this, even in the slightest.

The Bible does declare, however, that no man can know the day or the hour. It also makes it clear that if a man prophesies and the prophesy fails to come about, that man is false prophet and should die.
Deut. 18:20-22 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

We at WOAK are extraordinarily jealous of the Testimony of the Word of God. When we see such highly publicized error, we know that many young Christians will fall prey, because they are not rooted in the Word of God. After May 21, we will see many turn from God and from His Word because they've been taught that the Word of God most assuredly declares this date to be THE DATE. They will then be led to think that the Word cannot be trusted. My heart goes out to those who will be unnecessarily disappointed in the Word of God.
